  • Delivery and installation of steel plinth beams
  • Prefabricated metal stud walls delivered to site
  • As walls are assembled and installed, decking and concrete will be used to construct each floor
  • Completion of South Building structure expected in November; interior work on South building begins

Construction Effects

In October, November, and December, you can expect the following:

  • Delivery and assembly of a construction crane in November. The temporary closure of Butler Street between 4th Ave and Gregory Place will be required during the delivery and assembly of the crane. Notices of the temporary street closure and “No Parking” signs will be publicly posted 48 hours in advance of the scheduled crane delivery. NYC DOB will be on-site during the crane assembly.
  • Limited tree trimming on Butler Street was required by the NYC Parks Department, which determined that certain branches might be damaged by the hoisting of the crane. The work was done in accordance with Parks Department standards, which require a certified arborist on-site at the time of pruning and prohibit excessive pruning. The Parks Department will review the work once completed.
  • Truck deliveries within hours of operation. Our team has instructed truck drivers to park only where permitted; not to park in bus stops or crosswalks; not to block deliveries to local businesses or residential driveways; and to follow all applicable NYC regulations regarding idling. Our team will endeavor to minimize the impact of truck traffic around the site.
  • Temporary sidewalk sheds to establish pedestrian paths and promote safety.
  • Street parking is available on the west side of Gregory Place. The east side of Gregory Place (adjacent to site) is a “No Parking” zone.
  • Construction vehicles will access the site via vehicular gates on Fifth Avenue and Gregory Place. Flagmen will be present to help ensure pedestrian safety as vehicles enter and exit the site.
  • Seismic monitors on and around the site will report and track vibrations from construction activity in real time and ensure that all activity is within legally allowed limits.
